The class pet

Today I bring a project made for one of the subjects of my degree.
It consisted of researching the importance of the “pet” of the classroom and creating one of its own.
From minute one, with my group, we decided that it was going to be crocheted because there could be a more personalized and aesthetic result.
Then we had to pedagogically justify the elements that we were going to add to the pet and create activities that we would do with it in a children’s classroom. Something that made me think about how with a doll, object, or whatever we choose for our classroom pet, you can cover so many topics in a simpler way and closer to the students.
Be able to create the faithful companion of your students, to whom they will turn when they are afraid, distrust or even in good times.
We have always been told about the resource of stories for young ages, and it seems to me a very wide and beautiful range to work in the classroom. But the pet is to create a bond between little people and their childhood friend.
It is empowering a personalized object for your classroom, with which to address issues that you alone might not be able to.
It is to accompany your students on a long journey, but also to feel cozy as a teacher.
A class pet is an ally in the face of difficulties and joys. He is one more companion who will suffer and enjoy with them. And, above all, it is something that will allow you to know more about the student, give him confidence and help him to grow without fear and with confidence to express what is inside him.
